Christmas Craft!
We're starting to raise some money at uni in order to show at New Designers in the summer. We have a stall selling Christmas items this week so I made some gift labels.
They are just some brown paper luggage tags pimped up! With ribbon, beads and buttons.
I am definitely feeling the festive spirit now!

Charlotte Taylor Project - Hidden In The Ripples
My first third year project at uni was a collaboration with British Designer Charlotte Taylor http://charlotte-taylor.blogspot.com/. She set us a brief based around Japanese Culture. My research originally focussed on carp then moving on to look at origami. The carp gave my work a watercolour feel combined with quite graphic origami inspired lines. This also led me to use pleats. I based my prints around losing my original carp design within these graphic features. The collection is made of 12 digital prints on silk habotai and crepe de chine and is called 'Hidden in The Ripples'.
Enterprise Project 2011
This was a uni project in my second year. We set up small businesses in groups. I was part of One Thousand and One Secrets, we made six unique women's dresses inspired by many different cultures. The collection featured hand dyed fabric, laser cutting, embroidery, beading, and screen printing. I was responsible for designing some of the prints, screen printing and embellishment. We had to brand the business, organise a photoshoot and sell the garments. The images below are from the photoshoot which took place in Portsmouth.
The dresses below feature a print I designed, based on henna.
